I met up with the Lenger family on a
humid muggy STIFLING Summer night to do a family photo session for them. They had just gotten back from a fantastic vacation and they all had that beautiful vacation glow to their skin. This redhead was jealous for sure! Despite the Dog Days of Summer kind of heat, Sharon, Toph, Elizabeth, and George didn’t let it phase them.
George reminds me of my nephew, Bradly, and they happen to be the same age. In fact, my sister, Erica (Bradly’s Mom), and Sharon used to work together. I’m sure Bradly and George would be the best of buds. The same type of hilarious humor, slapstick comedy, and lovable boy antics abound with both of them. And they both have these contagious smiles where even if they’re up to no good, you can’t help but smile anyway.
Elizabeth is the oldest of Sharon and Toph’s kiddos and she is sweet as pie. She’s a tad more gentler than George in personality, but adorable and kind. She showed her maturity with following directions, but let loose and have fun with Sharon, Toph, and George. Every time I looked at her, she had a smile on her face. Love it!
Toph and Sharon are such a cute couple and I love photographing a pair like these two. They’ve been married long enough that some of those lovey dovey poses seem funny to them, but they happily obliged my requests anyway :) Did I mention that both Sharon and Toph as well as Elizabeth and George have piercing blue eyes that are to die for?! Gahh they're so good!
I always have a good laugh on the inside when kids (especially those that are school aged) start goofing around during a photo shoot and parents look at them like, “What is wrong with you? Seriously?!” But my favorite thing is that those moments, those real moments, often times make for the best photos and show true personalities especially for the kiddos.
Toph and Sharon, thanks for your patience during what may have been my hottest shoot yet this summer. I may have looked like I just left the gym when I was done, but I had a great time and you have a beautiful family I’m so thankful I got to photograph!!
