I gave my wife a "Mommy and Me" photo shoot for Mother's Day. Our son, William, had just turned 6 months old and I didn't know how he was going to "perform" for the camera. As soon as I set William down in the grass for the first picture it became obvious that he was not going to make this easy. That's when Katie took over! Not only is she an amazing photographer, SHE KNOWS KIDS. She was all over the place: up, down, this angle, that angle, rolling around in the grass making sure to get the perfect shot. William loved it. The pictures were amazing. By the time I'm writing this, he is now 1 year old and time is flying by. I love to look back at the pictures and remember that time in his life. The pictures are completely priceless and I would not trade them for anything. Thank you so much, Katie!

I have done two shoots with Katie now and both turned out beautifully. The unique thing about Katie is that not only are the photos amazing but the experience is phenomenal. When we did my maternity shoot she took a good deal of photos with my husband and me alone which required her to hold my one year old while taking photos. I was floored that she was willing to do that, which she did effortlessly, in addition to making immediate friends with my son (also not an easy task). She also worked with me to find the perfect location and work around our crazy schedule. We had a great time and ended up with a terrific product at a reasonable cost.

It's hard to find the best words for a review when you're as happy as I am. Our family has done four photo shoots with Katie- maternity, our external cephalic version (medical procedure to turn a breech baby), birth and a Christmas session. All have been amazing. Most photographers are friendly and professional, and generally deliver what they promise.....but not Katie. She's all of these things and more. She goes above and beyond, making sure the experience is the best it can possibly be....with an understanding only a parent can have. She's incredible with my children, and makes you feel like you've known her forever. Sometimes having your photos taken, especially with children, can be stressful. Katie understands that and takes away everything she can to allow you to just be there to experience and enjoy it. If that means holding (or chasing after) your children, carrying your bags, fixing your hair, she doesn't hesitate. That's what makes her stand out from the crowd. Oh, and she's a fantastic photographer, too.
Now, let's talk birth photography. I'll be the first to say I never thought I'd have the courage to do it, but after one meeting with Katie, I knew I wanted her to do it- and at that point, she hadn't done any photos for us yet! I can't really explain how comfortable she makes you feel with a situation that is very personal. When you're in the middle of labor and during the moments your child arrives, you can't see everything the way others can, and with her photos, I have memories of all the little details that are so special to us. She is so passionate about the birth experience and it's evident when you see the photos. Everything is important to her, and she captures it all. She made sure to photograph everything that was important to us, as well, and is always open to ideas and requests for particular shots.
Katie took extra care to be sure I was 100% comfortable with everything she was going to post, understanding how private of an experience a birth is. The way she captured our experience is totally priceless to me and I can't imagine NOT doing this again going forward.
I highly recommend Katie for any photography, but I would especially like to be an advocate for her birth sessions. There is no monetary value I can put on the photos I now have of this incredible time in our lives and we will now be able to share these with our son someday. Katie made all of this possible for us, because I couldn't have done it with anyone else.
